Sam JC Lee (Sam Jun Chul Lee)...

...was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in a pastor's family. He began playing electric bass while studying Electronic Engineering at Hanyang University, Korea. In 2001, he first came to America to volunteer for Campus Crusade for Christ in Los Angeles, CA. Then, he started studying music and bass with Zach Hann and Jonathan Ahrens, and decided to pursue music as his career.

After receiving a B.S. degree at Hanyang University in 2004, he came back to the USA to continue his studies of music. During his study on Jazz Composition and Performance degree at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, Sam had great opportunities to study with John Lockwood, Steve Rochinski, Matt Garrison, Whit Browne, Jetro da Silva, Bruce Gertz, Greg Hopkins, Ken Pulling, Scott Free, Bob Pilkington etc, which made him able to grow immensely in his music.

Sam has become one of the most demanded bassists in New England area because of his versatility for various styles of music such as Jazz, Funk, Gospel, R&B, and Rock. After receiving his degree from Berklee, he has been very active in music scene in East Coast area as freelancing bassist, sound/recording engineer, and composer. Currently he is involved in the music ministry at Citylife Church in Boston, works at the Learning Center of Berklee as part of teaching staff and at 12th Note Productions as a sound engineer.
