Matt Musty...

…was born in Hanover, NH. At age 7, he started taking piano lessons and by the age of 10 he made the switch from piano to drums, taking lessons from various instructors in the northeast kingdom. Enamored by the drums, he continued his musical journey in high school, playing in the various school ensembles and garage bands with aspirations of becoming a professional.

After high school, Musty attended the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston where he honed his skills as a drummer and as a musician, meeting and playing with some of the greatest young musicians in the world along the way. During his time there, he studied with various professors including Dave DiCenso, Rod Morgenstein, Terri Lyne Carrington, Mike Mangini, Larry Finn, Bob Kaufman, Rick Considine, Steve Wilkes, and Sergio Bellotti. He has also studied with Marcus Copening, Jon Fishman, and Russ Lawton.

Following his graduation from Berklee and a six month stint in Los Angeles, Musty moved to New York City where he currently resides as a studio and touring musician.

Matt Musty has worked with Jake Clemons, Marketa Irglová, Rickstar, Jon Levy, Rory Sullivan & The Second Season, Project K-Paz, Emily Earle, Adam Lasher, The Henry Millers, Justin King, Adam Rhodes, Daria Zolotukhina, Whitney Wolf, Tom Howie, The Black Kettle, and a plethora of other amazing artists and bands.
